HPA can be miscible with water in any proportion and also dissolves most organic solvents. It is easy to polymerize and is flammable and toxic.

HPA can be used in the production of adhesives, thermosetting coatings, fiber treatment agents and synthetic resin copolymer modifiers. It can also be used to prepare lubricant additives. The use of a functional monomer as a cross-linking monomer for acrylic resins can improve the product's adhesion, weatherability, chemical resistance, impact resistance, and gloss. It is utilized for the manufacture of synthetic resins, adhesives, and thermosetting coatings. In addition, it is applied in the manufacture of fiber processing agents, latex, printing inks, medical materials and so on.

HPA is mainly used in the manufacture of thermosetting acrylic coatings, photocurable coatings, photosensitive coatings, textile processing agents, adhesives, paper processing, water stabilizers, and polymer materials. A small amount of HPA can significantly improve the performance of products.

Homopolymerization or copolymerization of HPA can generate high polymers for coatings, adhesives, solid resins, molding plastics and so on.
